@Gabz well, it might seem lame, but have you given Simplenote a look? it's about as cross-platform and trustworthy as such a service can be and supports Markdown without turning it into a whole ethos lol.
@Gabz well shucks! out of context as I am, still feel obligated to note... there are so many other means of notetaking for work between those hehe. can I ask what platform(s)?
@manton excited for you! sounds like I should pass you the mantle. and as always in regards to difficulty typing on screen, I am obligated to advocate for hardware keyboarding hehe.
@manton I guess that feels like a need-mention to me, but I know I'm out of touch. I know I wish I'd learned that all platform browsers were restricted to WebKit long before I did, though.
@manton am I missing something or does this post really not mention browser engines whatsoever??
@news love this ty! worked in Safari on iPadOS for me. :)
@robb as in, it didn't show up in the (fleeting... unfortunately) "New Releases" section? make sure you've starred (= to following, last time I checked) their Apple Music artist page.
I really love MusicHarbor for this particular function.
@Archimage what a great question! I'm gonna say "Top Eight," though I'm still (slowly) reading lol.
@jglypt.co.uk sure is!
@Archimage I don't even want to admit to you how long it took me to discover something as simple as ⌘L
/AltD
...
@Archimage do they??? oh no...
@arstechnica.com I appreciate all of the privacy and ethics-associated reasons why it is preferable to start a Windows 11 installation with a local account, but if I could just add one more...
When you use a Microsoft account to do so, the operating system still requires a fucking username for the name of your user directory (because a local account must be created regardless, yes,) and all it has to go on is the email address you used to set up your Microsoft account.
A few years ago when I first installed Windows 11 on my home PC, the email address still associated with my primary account was ihadtopee@gmail.com
.
So, what do you think my user account folder was named? You'd probably assume it'd be ihadtopee
, right?
No. Through whatever process they set up to decide upon this, Windows 11 came up with ihadt
.
Perhaps it makes me a superficial person, but that shit bugs me far more than anything else about the whole thing.
@Archimage oddly enough, I've come all the way back to Textastic in the past few days, realizing that it could replace like 4-5 of my other, more current weekly-used apps and do so - in many ways - much more reliably, efficently, and elegantly. Still holds the record for largest rendered text file without crashing on iOS/iPadOS by a huge margin lol.
@manton omg I love this.
@youtu.be > I would choose the last one, and so would every Mk. VII owner that I put in this car.
